Neymar is getting the club by his side. Neymar’s allegation of racist behavior by Marseille’s Alvaro Gonzalez has led his club PSG to fully support the Brazilian forward.
The club has called on the French league authorities to investigate the incident.
PSG lost 1-0 at home to Marseille in League One last Sunday. Towards the end of the match, a foul by Leandro Daniel Pardes centered the match between the two sides. At one point in the scuffle, Neymar was seen hitting Gonzalez with his hand behind his head.
PSG’s Neymar, Levin Kurzawa and Pardes and Marseille’s Jordan Amavi and Dario Benedio were shown red cards in the incident. Neymar told the fourth referee as he left the field that he had heard a racist remark. The 26-year-old star later expressed his displeasure on Twitter.
In a statement on Monday, the PSG called on the French League authorities (LFP) to investigate the incident.
Gonzalo, however, has denied the allegations against Neymar. “There is no place for racism,” he wrote on social media.
